Asiatique The Riverfront
A charming riverside night market in converted warehouses with shopping, dining, a Ferris wheel, and Muay Thai shows.
Asiatique The Riverfront occupies a row of beautifully restored warehouses along the Chao Phraya River, originally built in the 1900s for the East Asiatic Company. Today it operates as an open-air night market and entertainment complex, open daily from 16:00 to midnight. The easiest way to get there is via the free shuttle boat from Sathorn Pier (BTS Saphan Taksin), which departs every 15 minutes starting at 16:00.
The complex is divided into four districts: Chareonkrung District for fashion and accessories, Town Square District for dining and the iconic Asiatique Sky Ferris wheel, Factory District for handicrafts and souvenirs, and Waterfront District for riverside restaurants. It’s more polished and tourist-oriented than Bangkok’s traditional night markets, with fixed prices at most shops (though bargaining at smaller stalls is still possible). Expect to pay a bit more than at Chatuchak, but the atmosphere and river setting make up for it.
Beyond shopping, Asiatique hosts Calypso Cabaret shows and Muay Thai Live performances — both are popular evening entertainment options worth booking in advance. The Ferris wheel offers good views of the river and city skyline after dark. For dining, the riverfront restaurants are pleasant but pricey; the food stalls deeper inside the complex offer better value. It’s a solid choice for an evening out that combines shopping, food, and entertainment in one location, especially if you’re travelling with family.
