Long-Stay Accommodation in Bangkok

Serviced apartments, condos, and long-stay hotels in Bangkok — monthly rates, neighbourhoods, and what to check before signing for a month or more.

Long-Stay Accommodation in Bangkok

Published Updated

For a month or more in Bangkok, serviced apartments are usually easier than hotels and simpler than private condo rentals. They work well when you need cleaning, reception, utilities, and a more predictable setup.

Private condos can be better value for longer commitments, but they need more checking. The wrong building, commute, or contract can make a cheap monthly rate expensive in practice.

Serviced apartments

Serviced apartments suit business stays, relocation trial periods, families, and remote workers who want hotel-like support with more living space.

Examples in the current accommodation collection include Citadines Sukhumvit 8 Bangkok, Somerset Sukhumvit Thonglor, Oakwood Suites Bangkok, and Grande Centre Point Terminal 21.

Compare the room layout carefully. A kitchenette, washing machine, workspace, storage, and natural light matter more on a long stay than they do on a weekend.

Condos and private rentals

Private condos can work well for longer stays, especially if you already know Bangkok and understand the area. They can also be less flexible and less predictable than serviced apartments.

Before signing, check what is included: internet, electricity, water, cleaning, building facilities, deposit terms, maintenance process, and whether the owner or agent responds clearly.

Neighbourhood choice

Long-stay accommodation should be chosen around routine. A good building in the wrong area becomes tiring fast.

Asok and Phrom Phong are practical for central access. Thonglor suits dining and upper Sukhumvit life. Sathorn works for business and quieter city living. Ari and On Nut can feel more residential.

Use the where to live in Bangkok guide before choosing a monthly stay.

What to inspect

Visit in person when possible. Check the walk to transit, noise at night, water pressure, air-conditioning, lift wait times, laundry, rubbish rooms, internet speed, and whether the street floods or jams during rain.

For remote work, test calls from the room. For families, check pavements, school routes, clinics, and daily food options.

My Bangkok advice

Do not lock in a long contract from photos alone. If you are new to Bangkok, start with a serviced apartment or flexible stay, learn your routine, then move into a longer rental once the neighbourhood has proven itself.
