Asiatique The Riverfront
An open-air riverside night market built on old shipping warehouses with over 1,500 shops, restaurants, and a Ferris wheel along the Chao Phraya.
Asiatique sits on the site of an old Danish shipping warehouse along the Chao Phraya River and has been converted into a sprawling open-air complex of shops, restaurants, and entertainment. It is more polished than a traditional Thai night market — think boutique stores, brand outlets, and sit-down restaurants rather than street food carts and haggling. The setting along the river is genuinely pleasant in the evening breeze, and the large Ferris wheel gives decent views over the water.
The free shuttle boat from Saphan Taksin BTS pier is the easiest way to get there. Boats run every 15 minutes starting at 4 PM and the ride takes about 15 minutes downstream. You can also grab a taxi or Grab car, but traffic in that area around 6–7 PM is reliably terrible. The complex is divided into numbered warehouses — the front section near the river has more restaurants and bars, while the back sections have clothing and souvenir shops.
This is not the place for cheap street food bargains or authentic market atmosphere — it is a cleaned-up, family-friendly night out with river views. Prices for food and goods are higher than at Chatuchak or local markets. That said, the Muay Thai Live show and Calypso Cabaret are both here if you want evening entertainment, and the riverside restaurants are a decent spot for dinner if you pick one with outdoor seating facing the water.
