Kamphaeng Phet MRT is often the most convenient station for serious market shopping. It sits beside the market and Or Tor Kor Market, with exits that bring you closer to the western and central side of Chatuchak.

Use Kamphaeng Phet if you are already on the MRT Blue Line, if you want Or Tor Kor Market, or if you want to avoid the Mo Chit/Chatuchak Park crowd.

MRT Chatuchak Park: Best MRT Interchange And Park Side

Chatuchak Park MRT is useful if you are transferring from or to Mo Chit BTS, visiting Chatuchak Park, or approaching from the eastern side of the market.

Station-exit information can change, but local station maps commonly mark Exit 1 for the market side, Exit 2 for Chatuchak Park, and Exit 3 for the BTS connection. Follow current station signs when you arrive.

BTS Mo Chit: Best For BTS Travelers

Mo Chit BTS is the standard BTS stop for Chatuchak Weekend Market. It works well from Siam, Ari, Phaya Thai, Asok via transfer, and other points along the Sukhumvit Line.

The tradeoff is crowds. On weekends, many visitors leave the train here, so expect queues on stairs, walkways, and ticket gates.

Saphan Khwai BTS is one stop south of Mo Chit. It is not the main market station, but it can be useful if you are staying in Saphan Khwai or approaching the southern side of the area.

Coming From Popular Bangkok Areas

From Siam, take the BTS Sukhumvit Line north to Mo Chit. This is simple and usually better than a taxi.

From Ari, take BTS north to Mo Chit. Ari is also a good place to return for dinner after the market.

From Sukhumvit/Asok, use MRT Sukhumvit to Chatuchak Park or BTS Asok to Mo Chit via the Sukhumvit Line.

From Silom, use MRT Si Lom to Chatuchak Park or change to BTS at Sala Daeng/Siam depending on where you start.

From Khao San Road or the old city, a taxi or ride app may be simpler, but traffic can be heavy. If you want rail, use the MRT from Sanam Chai or Sam Yot and continue to Chatuchak Park or Kamphaeng Phet.

Taxi, Grab, And Bolt

Taxis and ride apps are useful if you arrive early, travel with children, or plan to buy bulky items. They become less useful in the late afternoon when market traffic builds.

Chatuchak is more convenient for Don Mueang Airport than for Suvarnabhumi. A taxi or ride app is usually the simplest airport connection, especially with bags.

From Suvarnabhumi Airport, use the Airport Rail Link into the city and connect onward by BTS/MRT, or take a taxi if you are carrying luggage. Chatuchak is north of central Bangkok, so allow time.
