MRT Purple Line

The MRT Purple Line connects north-western Nonthaburi with Bangkok’s wider metro network. Its elevated outer section serves residential districts, markets, civic destinations, and park-and-ride journeys before the route reaches Tao Poon.

When the Purple Line is useful

Use the line for journeys along the Bang Yai, Bang Bua Thong, Rattanathibet, and Tiwanon corridors. Khlong Bang Phai, Talad Bang Yai, and nearby stations act as road-to-rail gateways for the western suburbs. It is especially valuable when the starting point is in Nonthaburi and a road trip toward central Bangkok would otherwise depend on peak traffic.

Connections at both ends of the journey

Tao Poon is the transfer to the MRT Blue Line for central Bangkok. Nonthaburi Civic Center connects with the MRT Pink Line for Pak Kret, Chaeng Watthana, Lak Si, Ram Inthra, and Min Buri. These transfers can involve different platforms or paid areas, so follow the named line and destination.

Outer stations and last-mile travel

Several outer stations work as road-to-rail gateways rather than walkable centres. Open the station map to check the correct carriageway and whether a bus, taxi, or motorcycle is needed after leaving the platform.
