Le Du holds one Michelin star in the Michelin Guide Bangkok. Chef Thitid “Ton” Tassanakajohn trained in New York at some of the city’s best restaurants before returning to Bangkok to open Le Du in 2013. The restaurant was one of the first to demonstrate that Thai fine dining could compete with international contemporary cuisine on equal terms — it appeared in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants for several years and helped establish Bangkok’s reputation for serious Thai contemporary cooking.
Le Du cuisine and style
Le Du’s cooking is Thai contemporary, built around what is seasonal and available in Thailand at any given time. Chef Ton uses French technique as a tool — not as an identity — applying it to Thai ingredients rather than importing European flavour profiles. The result is distinctly Thai: recognisable flavours executed with precision and restraint.
The tasting menu changes regularly. Wine pairing is available alongside a thoughtful drinks list.
Expect 3,000–4,500 THB per person before drinks. Reservations are essential.
Why visit Le Du
Le Du was among the restaurants that made Bangkok’s contemporary Thai scene credible to international food media. The restaurant has maintained its quality and identity over more than a decade, which is unusual in any city and rare in Bangkok’s rapidly evolving dining landscape.

Who Le Du Is For
