Somerset Sukhumvit Thonglor
A well-managed serviced apartment in Thonglor popular with long-stay expats and families, offering fully equipped kitchens and a comfortable pool.
Somerset Sukhumvit Thonglor is part of The Ascott group’s well-known serviced residence brand, located on Sukhumvit Soi 55 in the heart of Thonglor. The property caters to both short-stay guests and long-term residents, with many units occupied by expat families and business travellers on extended Bangkok assignments.
All units come with fully equipped kitchens (full-size fridge, cooktop, microwave, washer-dryer), which is the primary differentiator from standard hotels. Studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom configurations are available, with the larger units offering genuine apartment-scale living spaces. Furnishings are comfortable and well-maintained if not especially design-forward.
The swimming pool is a good size for a serviced residence, with sun loungers and a small children’s section. There’s a basic gym, a children’s playroom, and laundry facilities. The lobby lounge occasionally hosts resident social events — a nice touch for long-stay guests who want to meet neighbours.
The Thonglor location is excellent for daily life. The soi has 7-Eleven and FamilyMart stores, Japanese supermarkets (popular with the area’s large Japanese community), dozens of restaurants at all price points, and BTS Thong Lo station at the top of the soi. EmQuartier and The Emporium are two BTS stops away at Phrom Phong.
Monthly rates for long-stay start from around 40,000–70,000 THB depending on unit size, with nightly rates from approximately 2,500–4,500 THB. The Ascott/Somerset brand has several other properties across Bangkok if Thonglor doesn’t suit your preferred area.
