Southern Thailand is wonderful, but most southern trips are not easy two-night getaways from Bangkok. Flights help, but transfers to islands can take time.

Krabi is good for limestone cliffs, island trips, Railay, and a more scenic beach setting.

It works for a long weekend if you keep the plan tight. Add extra time if you want boat trips without rushing.

Koh Samui

Koh Samui is strong for resorts, beaches, spas, and a softer island rhythm. It is easier than some islands because it has an airport.

It suits couples, families, and travellers who want comfort more than backpacker energy.

Koh Lanta and Koh Yao
