Wat Mahabut is an active Buddhist temple beside Khlong Phra Khanong, best known outside its community for the Mae Nak shrine and the ghost story retold in Thai film and popular culture. Worship, daily temple life and the shrine all share the grounds.
The temple is east of On Nut BTS, with a taxi, motorcycle or local road connection from the station. Visit respectfully, follow posted rules and avoid treating worshippers or ritual activity as entertainment.
