Bed One Block Hostel
An award-winning design hostel hidden in a quiet Phaya Thai alley, just steps from the Airport Rail Link and BTS for quick city access.
Bed One Block is tucked into a quiet residential alley in Ratchathewi district, a few minutes’ walk from BTS Phaya Thai and the Airport Rail Link terminus. The hostel has won multiple design and hospitality awards for good reason — it looks and feels more like a boutique hotel than a backpacker crash pad.
The sleeping pods are architect-designed with solid wood construction, quality mattresses, individual curtains, USB charging, and personal reading lights. The pod layout maximises privacy while keeping the social common areas accessible. Both mixed and female-only dorm options are available. Bathrooms are modern, well-ventilated, and cleaned multiple times daily.
The common area features a stylish café-bar space with excellent coffee, a lending library, and a courtyard garden — unusual for a Bangkok hostel. Free breakfast is simple but decent (toast, eggs, fruit, coffee). The atmosphere is relaxed and slightly more mature than the party hostels of Khao San Road, attracting a mix of design-conscious backpackers and budget business travellers.
The Phaya Thai location is quietly strategic. The Airport Rail Link connection means early-morning flights are manageable without an expensive taxi. BTS Phaya Thai is two stops from Siam, and the Eastin Grand Hotel skywalk corridor keeps you sheltered from rain. The local area has affordable food stalls and convenience stores, with Victory Monument’s street food scene a short walk north.
Beds run from approximately 400–700 THB per night. For design quality and transport access at hostel prices, Bed One Block is one of Bangkok’s standout budget options.
