Siam Discovery

Bangkok's design-forward mall with curated lifestyle brands, Madame Tussauds, and a creative retail concept unlike typical shopping centres.

Siam Discovery sets itself apart from the Siam shopping cluster by focusing on design, innovation, and lifestyle rather than traditional retail. Redesigned in 2016 with a concept called “The Exploratorium,” the mall ditches conventional department store layouts in favour of open-plan zones curated by theme — think street lab fashion, creative living, digital culture, and experimental design. It connects directly to BTS Siam station and is open daily from 10:00 to 22:00.

The retail here leans toward brands you won’t find in other Bangkok malls: independent Thai designers, niche streetwear labels, curated homeware, and design-forward electronics like Bang & Olufsen. The ODS (Object of Desired Store) sections on each floor group products by concept rather than brand, which makes browsing feel more like gallery-hopping than shopping. Madame Tussauds occupies a large section on the upper floors and is a popular stop for families and groups.

If you’re someone who finds conventional malls tedious, Siam Discovery is worth a visit for the aesthetic alone — the interior architecture and visual merchandising are genuinely striking. The basement has a well-stocked Loft store (Japanese lifestyle goods) and a good food zone. Combined with Siam Paragon and Siam Center next door, the three-mall complex at BTS Siam can easily fill a full afternoon.
