CentralWorld
One of Southeast Asia's largest shopping malls with hundreds of stores, a massive events plaza, and great dining options.
CentralWorld is a sprawling complex that ranks among the biggest shopping centres in Southeast Asia, with over 500 stores spread across eight floors. It anchors the Ratchaprasong intersection and connects via skywalk to BTS Chit Lom station, making it easy to reach without braving the heat. The mall is open daily from 10:00 to 22:00, and the front plaza regularly hosts concerts, seasonal markets, and countdown events — it’s Bangkok’s go-to spot for New Year’s Eve celebrations.
The tenant mix caters to mid-range shoppers: you’ll find Zara, Uniqlo, H&M, and plenty of Thai fashion brands alongside a large Central Department Store and a separate Zen department store. The top floors are dedicated to electronics (Power Buy), a multiplex cinema (SF World Cinema), and an extensive food zone. The 7th-floor food court is popular with locals for affordable meals, while the ground-floor restaurants lean more international and upscale.
The sheer size of CentralWorld can be overwhelming, so it helps to know what you’re after before going in. For mainstream fashion, stick to floors 1–3. For tech and gadgets, head straight to the 4th–5th floors. The Groove zone on the ground floor outside is a pleasant open-air dining and drinking strip that comes alive in the evenings.
