Category: hotel

District: Bang Rak district in Bangkok

Area: Sathorn

W Bangkok brings Marriott’s lifestyle brand to the Sathorn district, occupying a sleek glass tower on North Sathorn Road near BTS Chong Nonsi. The hotel leans into bold design and nightlife energy — the lobby is a statement space with dramatic lighting, and the overall vibe skews younger and more social than neighbouring luxury hotels.

WOOBAR on the ground floor is a popular cocktail destination that draws in both hotel guests and local nightlife-goers. The WET pool deck on the 4th floor offers a more intimate pool experience than some of Bangkok’s mega-hotel pools, with cabanas, DJs on weekends, and a poolside bar. For more serious dining, The Kitchen Table serves international cuisine, and The House on Sathorn (technically an adjoining W property) offers fine dining in a beautifully restored 1889 mansion.

Rooms feature the W brand’s signature contemporary style with Thai-inspired design touches — silk accents, bold colour palettes, and the brand’s custom W beds. The Wonderful and Spectacular room categories offer city views from the higher floors, and the suites are generously proportioned with separate living areas.

The SilomSathorn location puts guests in Bangkok’s financial and nightlife corridor. Lumphini Park is nearby for morning runs, and the BTS Silom line provides quick access to both the river and the Siam shopping district. The nearby office towers mean the area empties out on evenings and weekends, giving a quieter feel than the tourist-heavy Sukhumvit strip.

Room rates start from around 5,000–8,000 THB per night. W Bangkok is best for travellers who want a socially charged, design-forward hotel with good nightlife access — not ideal for quiet family stays.
