The Peninsula Bangkok at a glance

The Peninsula Bangkok is a luxury riverside hotel on the Thonburi side of the Chao Phraya River, in the Charoen Nakhon area.
It suits travellers who want river views, polished service, a quieter setting, and a slower Bangkok stay.
Why stay here
The river is the point. Rooms, restaurants, the pool, and public spaces are built around Chao Phraya views.
The hotel feels more removed from traffic than many central luxury hotels, while still keeping access to the riverside and ICONSIAM.
Location and transport
The Peninsula is across the river from Bang Rak and the old luxury hotel corridor. Boat transfers and taxis are part of the stay.
For BTS access, most visitors connect through the Saphan Taksin area or use taxis and ride-hailing apps.
Who The Peninsula Bangkok Is For
Choose it for river atmosphere, service, pool time, and a classic luxury-hotel rhythm.
It is less ideal if you want to walk out into Sukhumvit nightlife or use the BTS several times a day.
My Bangkok advice
Book The Peninsula for the river, not just the brand. If your itinerary is mostly Siam, Sukhumvit, and MRT-heavy sightseeing, compare the travel time before committing.
